The magnificent Northumberland countryside is the setting for the beautifully renovated West Longridge Cottages.

There are a great many places to visit and lots of things to do in the area. The historic market town of Berwick is just four miles away, and Newcastle and Edinburgh, with their International airports, are just an hour's drive.

Take a trip across the tidal causeway to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne and visit the castle once owned and decorated by the famous architect and designer Sir Edwin Lutyens, which has a walled garden by his dear friend the famous garden designer Gertrude Jekyll.

You can sample the monk's mead on Lindisfarne and great kippers from Craster. Alnwick Castle and Gardens also make a great day out, the castle itself being the setting for many films and television programmes, namely the Harry Potter films and Blackadder to name just a few.

Take a day trip to Edinburgh and get a fix of culture in the art galleries, Castle, the Royal Mile, Palace of Holyrood House and the Camera Obscura, or just get some retail therapy in Harvey Nichols.
